Could you ever imagine running a four-minute mile? My presentation is based on the article The Fastest Way Not to Run a Four-Minute Mile by Michael Bolt, Anthony Meyer, and Nicholas Visser. During my talk, I will give you a brief overview of the history of the four-minute mile and the impact that the four-minute mile had on the authors of the article. Next, we will discuss the equation that the authors derived, showing examples of the equation at work, and dissecting the graph that can be derived from the equation. We will be able to see the impact that keeping a four-minute mile pace can have over multiple miles. Who knows maybe this will inspire you to try to run a four-minute mile one day!
