Saturday at the game my friends and I got to go on the ice during half time and I got to wrap my friend up as a mummy as a promotion. We ended up winning and it was really fun! Hockey games are held at Buffalo State College and there is a shuttle to take students to all of the home games. The shuttle leaves the student center at 6 and runs throughout the hour until the games start…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…

I am currently helping this couple get into a low-cost subsidized housing. Like the older Allie in the movie, one is physically challenged, while the other one is the undying and faithful lover and supporter. I can’t help but just step back and look at the couple and take in the moment. Her countenance as she was assisting her spouse sign the documents and even just get into and out of the vehicle was an overflowing act of love, joy, and peace. Things around them just didn’t matter…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…

So this weekend I had two costumes for two different nights. Friday night, two of my roommates and I were the Kardashian sisters. We bought black wigs, loaded on the makeup, and dressed up how they usually do. It was hilarious and we’ve been thinking of sending them our picture just to show some love. So that costume was 10 bucks because of the wig…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…

He went on to say something that shocked all of us. Coach Boone told his story to Dr. Martin Luther King, who was shocked of what had happen to him. After that he marched with Dr. King just a few years before his assassination. Basically his belief on segregation was that it was not needed and unfair to everyone because throughout his entire speech he told us all that no matter what race or color, we all deserve respect…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…

I’m trying something that I never before thought that I would do; I’ve stopped drinking pop altogether. From now on only juice, water, milk, and other such drinks. Thus far I’ve been able to fend off the dreaded Freshmen 15, only gaining a pound or so this far into the semester. However, I know I’m out of shape and want to get back to the shape I was once in…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…

The smell of pumpkins pollute the air, screams that pierce the night, eerie clowns trying to “put you into their box.” Smoke machines and strobe lights, a woman with a baby in her hand, the classic “guy with chainsaw”, and free candy at the end made this haunted house super spooky but fun as well! They really went all out for this and I loved it…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…

This is the one time of year where everyone gets to dress up and be something they aren’t. Many people have been planning their costumes for weeks and some are doing some last minute shopping. I anticipate to see all of the costumes everyone decides to put together. I have already heard about some pretty funny ones. As for me, I’m sticking with the classic Ninja Turtle. It was cheap to make…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…

From Donna Shaffner, Dean of Admissions

I’d like to use this blog as an opportunity to begin a conversation with parents. This year, I’m in your shoes: I just sent my first child to college in August, so I understand the college search process on a professional and personal level.

The wind has died down quite a bit and a few days over the weekend I found myself leaving my jacket indoors and venturing forth in only a t-shirt, jeans, and sandals. I know this won’t last so I feel the need to take advantage of the nice weather while I can. Furthermore, my floor is going on a group trip to the Haunted Catacombs tomorrow which should be very fun and a good stress reliever after the Chem test…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…

Yesterday was quite possibly one of the top-ten most tumultuous weather days ever. It was absolutely gorgeous around three or so, but by six, everything was gray and windy and wet. There were tornado warnings, and class was let out early so we could all get home safely. And today it picked right back up where it left off…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…
