A future Makerspace event is asking students, staff, and faculty to donate clean plastic lids so that we can create an artwork inspired by the work of Mary Ellen Croteau. She creates large scale landscapes and portraits using plastic lids, and the results are spectacular. There are two donation boxes on campus- one in the Andrew L. Bouwhuis Library (where we plan to work of the project and display it) and one outside LY 306.
Any plastic lids are most welcome – from water bottles, laundry containers, anything! Examples of Croteau’s inspiring work can be seen on her website at www.maryellencroteau.net
Please contact Professor Yvonne Widenor at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or concerns or ideas for an image. We plan to create the work next year as part of the College’s Sesquicentennial celebration.
