These light refreshing snacks are just one of countless ways to prepare vegetables so they taste amazing.
Chef Sarah is a graduate of the esteemed Johnson & Wales University and has been with Chartwells for six years. Additionally, she owns a farm-to-table catering company with her husband.
Chef Sarah started cooking at home as a child with her grandmother. Her first cookbook was the Roald Dahl Cookbook, which featured recipes from his children’s books such as Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Chef Sarah’s most influential chef is the famed Julia Child.

The Counseling Center is offering suicide prevention training for students, faculty and staff. QPR, the “CPR for suicide prevention,” will be offered September 13 at 3:00 p.m. in Old Main 221.
QPR stands for Question the person about suicide, Persuade the person to get help and Refer the person for help. QPR is designed to increase one’s ability to recognize suicidal thoughts and behaviors and to refer the person who is at risk to a professional resource. Those who have previously participated in this workshop are encouraged to take it again to refresh their skills.

ArtsCanisius presents The Rose Ensemble’s production of a “Land of Three Faiths: Voices of Ancient Mediterranean Jews, Christians and Muslims” on Thursday, October 4 featuring a public lecture at 10:00 a.m. and a free performance followed by a reception at 7:30 p.m. in the college’s Montante Center.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature a mix of classical and sacred instruments. The production of “Land of Three Faiths” embarks on a captivating journey of language, spirituality and cultural exchange, connecting faiths through extrinsic vocal styles and age-old traditions. The program explores the three religions and the devastating chapters that compose their histories.

Celebrity Chef Jet Tila brought his flare for Thai and Chinese cooking to Canisius on Thursday, September 6. Hosted by Chartwells, the Food Network star shared some of his culinary tricks-of-the-trade with the campus community during the lunch and dinner hours.

It was graduation day for three members of the campus community who participated in the Leadership Buffalo Essentials Program.
Hosted by Lawley Insurance, the six-month program saw the Canisius team engage in leadership and awareness training all while learning about Buffalo with visits to City Hall, the West Side’s Five Points Business District, the John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital and the Historic Colored Musicians Club of Buffalo.

Canisius College, in collaboration with the Erie County Medical Society (ECMS), is working to counter one of the worst doctor shortages in all of New York State.
On Wednesday night, September 5, the two institutions hosted pre-medical students from Canisius, Niagara University and the University at Buffalo to educate participants on the Medical Society’s work to support physicians in the area. The event was part of a new, ongoing effort to attract and retain physicians in Western New York.
WKBW-TV Channel 7 interviewed pre-medical students who attended the event.
