This morning’s Buffalo News references the latest edition of Western New York Economic News, published three times per year by Professors George Palumbo, PhD and Mark Zaporowski, PhD. The article cites WNY Economic News as indicating the national economy appears to be at “full employment” and that the Buffalo region has had “sustained, though modest” employment growth since the end of the recession.

With school back in session, vehicle and pedestrian traffic on Main Street and on other streets surrounding campus, has increased.
Please remember to use the flashing crosswalk warning lights leading across Jefferson Avenue to Science Hall both during the day and at night. The crosswalk is located where the sidewalk from the north entrance of Science Hall meets the public sidewalk on Jefferson Avenue. Pedestrians activate the flashing lights by pressing the button mounted on the pole.
In addition, please note these general reminders when crossing streets:
- Cross only at signals or at crosswalks
- Assume vehicles will not yield the right-of-way to pedestrians
- Wait for the pedestrian crossing cycle at signals
- Give full attention to your surroundings. Refrain from cell phone use when walking around the campus
Please feel free to contact the Office of Public Safety at Ext. 2330 with any questions or concerns.
