Business Objects Infoview Upgrade

Business Objects Infoview will be upgraded for the entire university today, Monday, September 16.

To access the new version, please use the “Reports” link found in the portal under MY APPLICATIONS. If you had the link saved to your portal favorites, it will be “broken” (red in color), so just drag and drop it again to your favorites. At this time we do not have single sign on configured, so you will need to re-enter your username/password, but hope to have that resolved soon.

The following video and documentation will help familiarize you with the new version.  As it is completely web-based, it looks and functions quite differently so reviewing these resources is highly recommended (please be logged into the portal before clicking this link):

Please review your reports in this new environment before October 15, when the old environment will be decommissioned.

ITS Database and Banner Upgrades Scheduled

ITS will be applying Banner upgrades and database updates to our production environment, on Sunday, August 4, 2024 from 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

During this maintenance window, the Banner Application, Self-Service Banner (Student Profile, registration, timesheets, leave balances, etc.) will be unavailable. There will also be a brief interruption to other applications while we perform our database work. These upgrades have already been applied to TST1, TST2 and PPRD databases for testing purposes and are required in order to keep our systems up to date.

The ITS systems status page, found in dark blue top section of the portal, will be updated accordingly.

During this maintenance window, the Banner Application, Self-Service Banner (Student Profile, registration, timesheets, leave balances, etc.) will be unavailable. ITS Database Maintenance Scheduled

ITS will be performing database maintenance Sunday June 16, 2024 from 7:00 – 9:00 a.m.

During this maintenance window, most administrative software such as Banner, Self Service Banner (SSB), Griff Audits, reports (Infoview) and all custom Canisius Web Applications (iAdvise, budget management, timeclock, new student checklist, etc) will be unavailable.

The ITS systems status page, found in dark blue top section of the portal, will be updated accordingly.

Self Service Banner 8 for Employees to be Sunset April 1

As announced back in December in The Dome and posted in the Need to Know of the portal, ITS will be shutting down Self Service Banner 8 for Employees on Monday April 1.  Now is the time to get familiar with the Employee Dashboard and begin using it.

To assist with campus training, we have recorded 2 Ellucian videos.  They can be found in the Banner wiki documentation page found here: https://canisius.atlassian.net/wiki/x/EAQSAg  (Scroll down to find the Self Service Banner 9 for Human Resources heading, in order to view the Employee Dashboard Overview and/or the Hourly Timesheet Overview).

Using the “My Team” functionality is a great way to review information about staff that report to you, including mailing addresses, phone numbers, Emails, leave balances and emergency contacts. We encourage you to review this information and advise your staff to keep their Canisius emergency contact information current via the Campus Alert/Update Emergency Contacts or Personal Information apps. Both apps are available in the portal, under CAMPUS SERVICES.

Please consider adding the Employee Dashboard to your favorites in the portal, just drag and drop the link located under PAYROLL or HUMAN RESOURCES!
