The More Than a Game campaign to support the Canisius athletics’ Blue & Gold Fund and the college’s 20 varsity athletics programs is on the verge of reaching a historic milestone – and YOU can help us cross the finish line!
To date, the campaign has raised more than $297,000 – with the anticipation of reaching its $300,000 goal.

On Wednesday, October 12, Canisius athletics announced the launch of the More than a Game campaign which supports the Blue & Gold Fund, and each of our 20 varsity athletic programs.
This annual campaign has seen nothing but growth year-over-year thanks to the support of alumni, friends and family, and faculty and staff supporters of Canisius athletics.
This year, our sights are set even higher. With an overall campaign goal of $300,000, we need your participation in this important endeavor. Your support allows us to continue to craft our vision of creating champions in the community, champions in the classroom, and champions in competition.

Canisius athletics announced on October 18 the launch of its “More Than A Game” fall fundraising campaign in an effort to support the college’s 20 varsity programs and the school’s 417 student-athletes.
Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020, the Canisius Athletic Department has been challenged to find new ways to deliver on the promise of providing our student-athletes a quality educational and athletic experience. At the same time, the costs to running a competitive NCAA Division I athletic program within the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA) have increased dramatically, not only because of the pandemic but also due to rapidly rising operational expenses.
“For years, our program has relied on the generosity of alumni, family and friends to help provide the resources necessary to allow our student-athletes and coaches to perform at their highest level,” Canisius Director of Athletics Bill Maher said. “As we return to a sense of normalcy this year, we are still be challenged to heavily rely on our self-generated revenue, which includes support from the Blue & Gold Fund. We need our Golden Griffin family to support us in our quest to provide a quality Canisius athletic experience for our student-athletes, while also helping to position our programs for future success.”
