Campus Candid

Last weekend (September 9 – 12), a team of 13 Canisius students and young alumni volunteered 300+ hours with Remote Area Medical-RAMTM in Olean, NY to host a free clinic providing medical, dental and vision care. RAM’s mission is to “Prevent Pain & Alleviate Suffering.” The clinic provided 279 patients with $116,118 in services. We also met up with four other Canisius alumni who were volunteering at the clinic.

Canisius pre-med and pre-health students have previously volunteered at RAM clinics in Ashtabula, OH. During the early days of Covid-19, Canisius students and young alumni helped RAM staff at drive-thru Covid testing sites in Cheektowaga and Rochester. Another team has formed to volunteer at an upcoming RAM clinic in Belmont, NY.
