RHA President Abu Jallow & RHA Events Coordinator Sienna Stepien showed incredible leadership and represented Canisius on a national stage with Golden Griffin pride. Canisius earned some well-deserved hardware with Jallow taking home a Golden Antler pin, awarded by our region of NACURH for exemplary leadership as a new conference attendee. Advisor Hunter Stempin was awarded a silver links pin by the region for dedicating resources and funds to get Canisius affiliated with NACURH after a dormant period. After a great year of RHA programming, we’re excited to bring back what we’ve learned and continue our tradition of making memories in our home away from home!
WGRZ-TV Channel 2 hosted the honorees from the Women’s Business Center’s IGNITE Awards, held May 8 in Science Hall. Amanda Popovski, recipient of the IGNITE Emerging Entrepreneur Award, and Sally Crews, recipient of the IGNITE Innovator and Change Maker Award, both spoke about the resources available through the Women’s Business Center and how those resources helped grow their businesses. This course will go over the fundamentals of LLM AI, including the ethics of using AI and maintaining integrity, tips on using AI for work and learning, and prompt engineering.
If interested, fill out this “workshop book club” form for Developing AI Literacy. The idea is to complete one module each week and then meet up and discuss it once per week (to be determined). We will start this “book club” the week September 14, ending the week of October 19.
This course explores how AI-powered tools like Copilot can assist faculty in improving the accessibility of digital course materials to meet Title II expectations. It provides practical, problem-focused AI prompts to help instructors efficiently generate alt text, improve table formats, and structure documents for better usability.
We plan on offering a similar “workshop book club”, in Spring 2027, starting the week of February 1 and ending the week of March 8. The sign-up form will be sent out later.
The Clean Mobility Projectoffered members a chance to compete for bragging rights and tickets to the final Skyride as part of the Go Bike Bike Month Battle in May. While Canisius community members walked, ran, rode, or used public transportation to be a part of the challenge, we are pleased to cheer on the final two competing groups from the City of Buffalo and NFTA!
