ArtsCanisius is thrilled to announce the opening of a new art exhibit in the Peter A. and Mary Lou Vogt Gallery in the Andrew L. Bouwhuis, SJ Library.

From There to Here: Karl Kozlowski’s Journey in Art opened October 1, with a reception for the artist and his family on Thursday, Oct. 9 from 3:00 to 4 p.m. outside the Gallery space. All are welcome to this event, and there will be light refreshments. The exhibit runs until Dec. 12, 2025, during normal library hours.

From his artist statement, Karl conveys what motivates his artistic practice: “I create pieces that reflect the things I love most: pets, sunflowers, and the simple joys of daily life. Often, my art is a gift—like an Optimus Prime for my children or vibrant images of fire trucks and police cars. I’m not formally trained; instead, my journey has been one of exploration and curiosity. I’ve experimented with sketchbooks, ink, oils, watercolors, and most recently, acrylics.”

Karl Kozlowski, PhD is the Associate Dean in the School of Behavioral and Health Studies, Professor and Chair of the Department of Kinesiology, and a Researcher for the Institute for Autism Research, and we look forward to seeing members of our campus community stop by the Gallery to admire and enjoy his artistic talents.
