This Friday, August 15 is the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary, a holy day of obligation for Catholics. Christ the King Chapel will offer Masses on that day at 12:05 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.
The feast day commemorates the belief that the Blessed Virgin Mary was taken into heaven, body and soul, at the end of her earthly life. The day is a central tenet of Catholic faith.
