President Stoute is scheduled to serve as a panelist on the topic at a Feb. 3 event titled “Perspectives,” which is being hosted by the newspaper and the University of Toledo. He will sit alongside former NFL quarterback Andrew Luck and former NFL kicker Nick Lowery. Without the federal oversight of education standards through policy and curriculum, the ability to produce students able to compete for elite jobs in the global marketplace could be compromised, said the university’s director of graduate education and leadership. Shyam Sriram, PhD, appeared on the Jan. 21 episode of WBFO’s “What’s Next.” The hourlong NPR program dove into NY Governor Kathy Hochul’s State of the State address, focusing on six key topics: education, housing, affordability, the environment, mental health and public safety.
