Career Development is once again accepting gently used professional clothing for our pop-up shop. The closet helps students present their best selves at interviews, networking events and the annual Griff Career Fair, which is taking place this year on April 9. In honor of National Wear Red Day, the Wellness Committee is sponsoring a CPR instruction course on Friday, Feb. 7, from noon-1 p.m. in the Science Hall Commons. The training will provide you with the practical knowledge of applying hands-only CPR in the case of an emergency. This event will be put on by the American Heart Association and their certified instructors.
National Wear Red Day takes place the first Friday in February to raise awareness of women’s heart health.

3D Printing: Create measuring jigs, custom boxes for electronics, replicas of cultural objects, objects for students to write about and more.

This includes HR services, the Library, teaching support and information technology tools.This is a great opportunity to get acquainted with teaching at Canisius and learn about things that can help you teach either in-person or online.
President Steve Stoute spoke with The Toledo Blade about the cultural and economic impact of sports. President Stoute is scheduled to serve as a panelist on the topic at a Feb. 3 event titled “Perspectives,” which is being hosted by the newspaper and the University of Toledo. He will sit alongside former NFL quarterback Andrew Luck and former NFL kicker Nick Lowery. The discussion will be moderated by David Shribman, a Pulitzer Prize-winning, nationally syndicated columnist and executive editor emeritus of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Read the full story.
The Buffalo News interviewed Meg Keller-Cogan, EdD, for a Jan. 27 story examining President Trump’s proposal to eliminate the Department of Education and its potential implications on Buffalo Public Schools. Without the federal oversight of education standards through policy and curriculum, the ability to produce students able to compete for elite jobs in the global marketplace could be compromised, said the university’s director of graduate education and leadership. Shyam Sriram, PhD, appeared on the Jan. 21 episode of WBFO’s “What’s Next.” The hourlong NPR program dove into NY Governor Kathy Hochul’s State of the State address, focusing on six key topics: education, housing, affordability, the environment, mental health and public safety.
