Faculty-Staff on Transportation Practices

Canisius is partnering with Clean Mobility Buffalo to address transportation obstacles on campus.
Our goal with this project is to improve access to clean, affordable, and safe transportation options in our community. Canisius is pleased to be an anchor institution in this partnership and has engaged with other groups such as GoBike Buffalo and ReddyShare to learn more about options for our campus community.  We are developing a strategic pilot program around this goal, and our students participated in a similar survey last month. We heard from 333 students, and now we need input from all faculty and staff.
The faculty and staff survey opens this week and closes on October 31, and one person who submits a completed survey will be the lucky winner of an amazing gift basket filled with exclusive Canisius swag.
Don’t miss your chance to represent Canisius with pride while shaping the future of our campus experience.
Please look for the Email about the survey and take 3-5 minutes to complete it. We are grateful for your cooperation!

A Panel Discussion about the “Leonardo da Vinci” documentary

On Monday, September 30, Assistant Professor Yvonne K. Widenor joined a panel discussion at WNED/PBS Buffalo Toronto Public Media to share reactions and comments about the latest documentary by Ken Burns, Sarah Burns, and Clarence, NY native David McMahon entitled “Leonardo da Vinci.”

Moderated by Keiah Shauku, the Director of Community Engagement at the Buffalo AKG Art Museum,  Professor Widenor, David McMahon, Dr. Ryan St. Pierre, an Engineering Professor at University of Buffalo, and Simone Ragland, the Project Director for Science + Technology Enrichment Program contributed to a lively chat that offered the audience of over 160 attendees insight into the documentary that will premier on WNED/PBS on November 18 and 19. The documentary was inspired by the extraordinary biography of da Vinci by Walter Isaacson published in 2017 and includes a multitude of da Vinci enthusiasts including art historians, historians, Isaacson and other biographers, a heart surgeon, and filmmaker Guillermo del Toro.
