The Canisius campus came back to life on Friday, August 23 when the university’s newest Griffs moved into their residence halls. A huge shout-out to all the student-athletes who helped make move-in day so seamless for students and their families.
And it was all smiles on the faces of our newest #Griffs during New Student Convocation (below). The ceremony celebrates the start of their college careers at Canisius and all that they will accomplish. Thank you to everyone who attended and rallied for our first-year and transfer students as they begin their journey.

Please join ArtsCanisius as it begins its yearly schedule of events with an art exhibit and reception. “Sarah Tulin: Charismatic Fauna, A Retrospective” will open on Thursday, September 5 in the Peter A. and Mary Lou Vogt Gallery in the Andrew L. Bouwhuis, SJ Library and will feature oil paintings created by Associate Professor Sarah Tulin from our Biology Department. According to Tulin, “These paintings are all from my independent art classes in high school where my inspiring teacher, Pat Carr, taught me how to capture colors, shadows, and reflections. I remember spending weeks trying to imbue eyes with life!”
We are grateful to exhibit her paintings and invite you to a reception on Friday, September 6 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM in the Andrew L. Bouwhuis, SJ Library where Dr. Tulin will talk about her artistic practice. Light refreshments will be served. These paintings will be on view until mid-October.
Please Yvonne Widenor, director of ArtsCanisius, at widenory@canisius.edu if you have any questions about this and/or future ArtsCanisius events.
