Last month, Clare Smokowski ’21, psychology, earned her JD from the University at Buffalo.
At UB, she served as a student attorney in the mediation clinic, an intern at Legal Aid, and an extern in the office for General Legal Counsel of the Buffalo Board of Education. She was president of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society and an editor of the Buffalo Human Rights Law Review.
At Canisius, in addition to a major in psychology, she completed minors in Spanish and English. She wrote a creative all-college honors thesis, “Hey Jude: Autism Spectrum Disorder Through the Lens of Fiction.”
Smokowski passed the New York State Bar exam in February, and she has accepted a position as an Education Attorney and Attorney for the Child at Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo.
