Alyssa Palombo ’11 Publishes Sixth Novel

On June 18, Alyssa Palombo ’11 will publish her sixth novel, The Assassin of Venice, a story of love and intrigue set in the Italian Renaissance.

The book has earned glowing pre-publication reviews. Kirkus Reviews describes it as “a juicy tale of romantic suspense, elegantly appointed” and Booklist, in its starred review, calls it “a tense, sexy work of historical fiction and political intrigue.”

Palombo graduated from Canisius with majors in English and creative writing and a minor in music. She took workshops in playwrighting, fiction writing and literary publishing, and wrote a creative all-college honors thesis, a collection of short stories.

The Burchfield Penney Art Center will host a book launch for The Assassin of Venice on Thursday, June 20, at 6:30 p.m. Talking Leaves Books will be on hand to sell books. The event will be both in-person and virtual.

Palombo’s previous novels include The Violinist of Venice, The Most Beautiful Woman in Florence and The Borgia Confessions.
