Dr. Graham Stowe, assistant professor of English and director of the Canisius Writing Center, published an edited conversation with Dr. Beth Boquet in Connecting Writing Centers Across Borders: A Blog of WLN, A Journal of Writing Center Scholarship.
Boquet, professor of English and director of the Writing Center at Fairfield University, is the author of one of the most influential papers of the past twenty-five years in the field of writing center studies. Stowe and Boquet discuss “the excessive writing center,” that is, a center that sees itself as engaged in more than merely remedial work, but rather one that strives to be “a space wherein tutor and student engage in conversation to become more sophisticated writers and thinkers.”
