As we prepare for the upcoming semester, I have some updates to share regarding our Senior Leadership Team.
Tim Balkin, vice president for business and finance, will step down later this year. Tim has agreed to continue serving in his role until we find a successor, a process that we will initiate as soon as possible. I am grateful for Tim’s continued leadership over the coming months.
Tim joined the Canisius Senior Leadership Team at a challenging time, and throughout his tenure has consistently gone above and beyond in serving the institution and supporting his colleagues. As a graduate of the Canisius Class of 1981, Tim exemplifies our values and lives out our mission in his professional pursuits, with a passion for excellence and a commitment to nurturing future generations of leaders. If the measure of a good leader is leaving a place better than they found it, then Tim’s legacy of leadership at Canisius is certain.
Kim Venti, previously vice president for institutional advancement, left the college last month. Kim joined Canisius in 2018 as associate vice president for Institutional Advancement and was promoted to vice president in 2020.
I am grateful for Kim’s leadership and support during my transition to Canisius and have enjoyed working with her this year to advance the goals of the institution. Many of you have worked with Kim over the past five years, and I know you would agree that she has made positive contributions to our Canisius community and played a role in positioning Canisius for great success in the future.
Dianna Civello, senior philanthropy officer, will oversee the Institutional Advancement team during the search for a vice president, which is currently underway.
Please join me in wishing Tim and Kim the best in their future endeavors.
