On Sunday, October 16, members of the Canisius Chapter of Alpha Sigma Nu (ASN) presented Amy Betros with the Magis Medal, the Society’s highest honor.  Betros is the co-founder and executive director of St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy, and received an honorary doctorate from Canisius College in 2009. St. Luke’s has served the needy and marginalized men, women, and children, especially of Buffalo’s East side, for more than 25 years.

The award to Betros was one of three presented internationally this year.

Alpha Sigma Nu is the international honor society of Jesuit colleges and universities.  It is comprised of approximately 80,000 members.
