President Stoute to Deliver State of the College Address

Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, October 4, 2022, for the State of the College address.  The event will take place in Montante Cultural Center, beginning at 3:30 p.m. followed by a reception.

The State of the College address is an opportunity for the campus community to hear from President Stoute and the leadership team about the most pressing matters impacting the institution.  There will be an opportunity for a question-and-answer session at the conclusion of the address, and the leadership team will endeavor to answer as many questions as possible in the allotted time.

Canisius continues to face significant headwinds in the market but President Stoute is “resolute in [his] belief that together we will rise to meet the challenge of this moment and continue to deliver on the promise of a Canisius education in new ways to the next generation of leaders of our city, country and society.”

Real Talk About Race

Canisius is excited to partner with a number of community organizations and businesses to host, Real Talk About Race:  Robin DiAngelo and Nanette D. Massey, on Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 10 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., in the Montante Cultural Center.

The aftermath of the May Tops Supermarket shooting has shown that the talks we are having about race in Western New York are not leading to the progress we say we want. More than ever, we need the boldness to move beyond false politeness to authentic conversations that produce real change.

Two powerhouse speakers join forces in Buffalo, NY, to demonstrate how to make that happen.

Together, they bring more than 25 years of leadership in racial justice education. With frankness and practicality, audiences will be left with self-clarity and the ability to meaningfully contribute to dialogue and action within their spheres of influence.

This full-day session led by the inter-racial team of DiAngelo & Massey will provide the skills and perspectives needed to build racial stamina and create more racially just norms and practices in our workplaces and community.

Lunch graciously provided by Tops Supermarkets

Canisius College students, staff, and faculty admitted at no charge with campus ID.
