Campus Candids

More than 150-plus employees and students gathered in the newly-renovated Economou Dining Hall on Wednesday, August 17 for the 5th Annual Employee Appreciation Lunch.

Spencer Liechty, the new director of Campus Ministry, was introduced and led the group in prayer. President Steve Stoute also received a warm welcome and expressed his gratitude for everyone’s hard work and dedication to the college.  President Stoute added that he looks forward to more conversations with members of our campus community in the weeks and months ahead, as we work together to establish a new vision and strategy for Canisius.

The Dome Returns to Regular Schedule

Beginning the week of August 29, The Dome will return to its regular publication schedule of three times per week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays). Submissions must be received no later than 2:00 p.m. on the day prior to publication. A single post cannot appear more than once per week and three times per month.

Celebration of Service

The Human Resources Department is pleased to acknowledge Canisius faculty and staff as they achieve service milestones in 2022!

Please save the date for the Celebration of Service recognition event on Thursday, October 27 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. in the Grupp Fireside Lounge.

The college will honor all faculty and staff who have reached 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 or 45 years of service and those who are retiring from the college in 2022.

Honorees will receive an invitation to the event, so please save the date in your calendar.

We look forward to gathering together as a campus community to recognize our colleagues!

Fall 2022 Open House

The Undergraduate Admissions staff will be welcoming prospective students and families to campus at two Fall Open Houses: Sunday, October 16 and Saturday, November 12.

In Memoriam

Rev. John J. Ryan, SJ, former House Confessor to the Canisius College and High School Jesuit community, passed on away on august 5, at Murray-Weigel Hall.

Father Ryan came to the college in 1999 to assist in the Campus Ministry Office and with freshman advisement. After a brief stint as associate pastor of St. Ann’s Church (2002-2003), Father Ryan moved back to the Canisius Jesuit community and served as Chaplain to Alumni and Parents at Canisius High School (2003-2012).
