Demolition work on the Science Hall parking garage is moving swiftly. Here’s the scene from late last week.
The college is replacing the 70-year old ramp with a surface parking lot to better accommodate the campus community. When complete, the parking area will be well lit, provide areas of green space and integrate pedestrian and bicycle-friendly design elements.
Thank you to Lisa Mastropaolo, system administrator from ITS, for snapping this photo of the sunrise over the ruins.
Kinesiology Professor Mike Dolan is quoted in the July 29 edition of The Buffalo News. Dolan spoke about the college’s new articulation agreement with D’Youville University, which gives sports and exercise healthcare majors at Canisius guaranteed admission into graduate programs in physical therapy, occupational therapy and chiropractics at D’Youville. Buffalo News Reporter David Robinson spoke with Julie Anna Golebiewski, PhD, for a story about the June unemployment numbers in the Buffalo Niagara region. The associate professor of economics and finance weighed in saying that rising wages, especially at the low end of the pay scale, are increasing the competition for entry-level workers.
