The Men’s Swim team picked up where the women left off last week and continued to plant, weed, paint and spruce up the People’s Park. The community garden houses a free little library, garden beds, ornamental flowers and many locations to sit and enjoy the trees and flowers. Many thanks to Scott Vandezell, the coach of the swimming team, for encouraging participation from his squad.
Community members from the New Buffalo Institute also showed up this past weekend to help turn the beds at the Jefferson Avenue garden. Thanks to Amun Heru Ra for organizing and for the effort from all of the residents of Hamlin Park who came out to help.
