More than 500 of President John J. Hurley’s closest family, friends and supporters gathered at the Atrium@Rich’s on Friday, May 6 to celebrate his 25-year legacy at Canisius College.  Independent Health sponsored the event, which radiated the spirit of Canisius.  The room sparkled with blue and gold, and was accented by visual displays that showcased the college’s transformation throughout the years.

The evening included an invocation by Rev. Richard Zanoni, SJ, associate pastor at St. Michael’s Church, and a reflection and vocal performance by Sydnie Perkins ’16, MS ’20. The event’s honorary co-chair, Dennis Strigl ’74, HON ’11, eloquently introduced a video tribute, which encapsulated Hurley’s resilient, thoughtful and dedicated leadership.

The program concluded with President Hurley sharing his own memorable remarks.
