Highly motivated Canisius College students, who want to build on their undergraduate education with top-notch social work training, will be able to accelerate their course of study by completing both their BA or BS in psychology and the MSW in approximately five years under a new agreement between Canisius College and the University at Buffalo School of Social Work.
This recently signed cooperative agreement, newly announced by UB School of Social Work Dean Keith Alford and Canisius Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences Thomas A. Chambers, marks the first time that the UB School of Social Work partnered with a private college to offer a 3+2 program. The 3+2 Program is open to Canisius students who, by the completion of their third year of enrollment at the college, complete a minimum of 90 credits, including the common core and psychology major requirements. Canisius students interested in the 3+2 Program will be provided with individual academic advisement during the completion of the three-year degree plan.
