The WNY Teacher Residency program at Canisius College recently received a $75,000 grant from the Margaret L. Wendt Foundation. This grant will aid in supporting exam costs and living expenses for the students in the program. This fall, it will have 10 students entering their residency at five different partnership schools and will welcome 15 new students.

As part of their orientation program, Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) students enjoyed a trip to the Albright-Knox Northland where they took in the Herve Tullet: Shape and Color Exhibit.
The Tullet exhibit stresses the importance of the making of art, not just the finished product, so students engaged in artmaking activities and posted their works on the walls of the exhibit. They also experienced mural painters in action, whose work will be hung outdoors in the Northland neighborhood in the next few weeks.
