June Employee of Distinction

The Human Resources Department is pleased to announce that Connie Pileri is the Canisius College Employee of Distinction for June 2021. Connie was nominated for this award by the Senior Leadership Team.

At Canisius for more than 27 years, Connie currently works as the assistant dean of student affairs in the Event Services Department. Connie was selected for this award for her long-standing record of great service to the college and in large part due to the integral role she played in the successful transition from in-person events. Events such as Ignatian Scholarship Day and Commencement were transitioned to a hybrid format during the pandemic. Connie went above and beyond what was expected when coordinating major events for the college, while maintaining flexibility to the ever-changing Covid-19 guidelines to keep the campus safe. Connie’s excellent communication and organizational skills, willingness to help, and ability to work quickly and efficiently, all while maintaining a positive attitude, have been deeply appreciated by the college and all those she supports.

Matt Mulville, assistant vice president for  students, also commends Connie for all her hard work, adding the following:

“Connie has been a dedicated employee for 27 years and has held many different roles at the college during that time. Connie always assists students, staff and faculty to meet their needs. Connie has been willing to take on additional tasks and projects and is flexible in making sure the outcomes of these projects benefit everyone at the college. These qualities showed brightly during the Covid-19 response and especially with the shift from a virtual graduation to an in-person event.  Most recently, Connie has agreed to help with New Student Orientation. We thank Connie for all she has done for Canisius.”

Please join the Human Resources Department in congratulating Connie on this achievement, and thanking her for all she has done!
