The Canisius Magazine team received a Platinum 2021 Hermes Creative Award for the 150-page sesquicentennial edition. Hermes is an international competition administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP).

Entries are judged on concept, story development, writing and design. AMCP judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.

Canisius College is hosting a pop-up vaccination clinic today, Wednesday, May 12, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The pop-up site is located at the Spillman Lot, located on the corner of Jefferson Avenue and Florida Street (behind the Koessler Athletic Center). The Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be distributed to anyone in need, including those at Canisius, friends and neighbors. It is customary to bring an insurance card and photo i.d. if you have one but if you do not, just show up. No appointment is needed.

Campus Ministry will hold a Memorial Service for James Lyon ’21 on Thursday, May 13 at 7:00 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel. James passed away on April 26. A senior student, he was a member of Alpha Sigma Nu (Jesuit Honor Society) and Alpha Phi Sigma (Criminal Justice Honor Society). He planned to attend law school in the fall. .
