Dr. Barbara Irwin, Professor of Communication Studies, was interviewed this weekend for an upcoming documentary about Reading Rainbow, the children’s reading motivation series co-produced by WNED-TV, Buffao’s public television station. Dr. Irwin worked at WNED in the mid-1980s, helping with local and national promotion, community outreach, and the production of book review segments featuring local children. She is currently writing a book about the early history of the show with series co-creator Tony Buttino.
