Want to go the extra mile on Canisius Giving Day? Consider a challenge for your program area. A good blue print to follow is from Jeff McConnell, PhD, chair of the Computer Science Department.

This year, in honor of his 38th year at Canisius, McConnell will donate $10 for every person who gives at least $38 to the Computer Science Program. In 2019, he matched gifts made to the program, dollar-for-dollar, up to $500. In 2018, he challenged that if 50 donors made a gift of $25 or more to the Computer Science Department, he would donate an additional $500.

Challenges are hugely successful in making alumni and supporters feel like their gifts are going the extra mile. A challenge for your support area could be an additional boost!

Remember that the programs with the most donors will receive a cash prize. The program with the most donors will receive $1,000. Second place will receive $750 and third place will receive $500.

Have questions about a challenge? Email the Canisius Fund at canfund@canisius.edu or call us at Ext. 2712 and we will be happy to assist you!
