Marie Claire Magazine (UK) published a feature story on Christy Hoffman’s February 2020 research, which shed new light on the benefits of sharing a bed with your beloved pet. Click here to read the article, titled “Sleeping Next to a Dog is Better for You than Snoozing Next to Another Human.”
Hoffman is an associate professor of animal behavior at Canisius. Earlier this month she released another new study, which found nearly 70 percent of pet parents co-sleep with their dogs. Click here to read more about that study.

Congratulations to the Canisius Mock Trial team, which recently competed in the Second Annual Geneseo Joust Invitational.
The competition was virtual this year and presented a host of technological problems and safety restrictions, but with the guidance of Mock Trial coach and instructor attorney William Lorenz Jr. ’09 the team was able to overcome and successfully compete. Adding to the array of team and individual awards that the team has accumulated since Mock Trial’s inception at Canisius in 2006, student coordinator Rianna Iorillo ’20, in her final competition before graduating, won both a top attorney and top witness award.
