The Student Programming Board (SPB) hosted Fall Fest this past Saturday.
The annual event looked a little different this year but it was still a lot of fun. Students threw some (harmless) axes, played a little cornhole and even tested their endurance on a mechanical bull!

The latest research findings, from the Institute for Autism Research, regarding its MaxOut program is continuing to generate media interest. Just this week, WKBW-TV Channel 7 Reporter Taylor Epps reported on the IAR’s most recent study, as did OPEN MINDS, a market research and management consultation firm that specializes in health and human services.

The difficult decision was made to suspend the study abroad program for the spring 2021 semester. Given the current situation regarding the Covid-19 pandemic in the United States and across the world, we believe that this decision is best for our students, keeping their safety our number one priority.
Students impacted by this decision have been notified and the staff of the Center for International Education is working with these students to see if we can support their desire to study abroad in a different semester. We are hopeful that we can resume our study abroad program in the fall 2021 semester but will continue to monitor the Covid-19 situation closely and make a decision as we get closer to that semester.

Public Safety is sponsoring its annual clothing and toy drive to benefit Ladies of Charity Buffalo. See the above flyer for more information.
Please consider donating new or gently used clothing, personal care items or household items. Ladies of Charity Buffalo is seeking donations of winter outerwear, including hats, gloves and coats for all ages. New, unwrapped toys will brighten a child’s Christmas, and gift cards are always welcomed – especially for teens and adults!
Call Public Safety at 888-2330 to arrange a pick-up of larger items such as bicycles or breakable items. Any donation is greatly appreciated. Donations will be accepted through December 11, 2020.

Seattle University is sponsoring a talk, titled “Central America and the Role of the Region’s Three Jesuit Universities in Times of COVID.” The event will take place Tuesday, October 27 from 3:30-5:00 p.m. EST.
The focus is on the response to Covid-19 carried out by the three Jesuit universities in Central America — the Central American University in Managua, Nicaragua; the Central American University “Jose Simeon Cañas” in San Salvador, El Salvador; and the Rafael Landívar University in Guatemala. Speakers include Vice President Jorge Huete (UCA-Managua), Vice Chancellor Omar Serrano (UCA-San Salvador), and Dra. Ana Marina Tzul Tzul from the URL-Quetzaltenango campus.
