It’s Throwback Thursday!

Each Thursday, throughout the summer, the Office of College Communications will include historical facts about the college in The Dome, on Facebook and Twitter. It’s all part of our yearlong sesquicentennial celebration, which culminates in September 2020 when Canisius turns 150 years old.

Today, we flash back to August 31, 1993, when LTC James E. McNicholas ’68 retired as chair of Canisius’ Military Science Department. McNicholas served seven years in the department and led the ROTC battalion to three straight 1st place finishes at the national Advanced Camp. After his retirement, McNicholas served as director of Army instruction for the Buffalo Board of Education’s Junior ROTC program.

McNicholas is currently a member of the Canisius College Board of Trustees.
