On Wednesday, April 22, the Emergency Relief Fund was launched with the hope to raise funds in support of students and staff facing hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On the first day of this campaign, the initial $50,000 goal was surpassed and currently, more than 220 donors – alumni, friends, faculty, staff and trustees – contributed over $65,000.

Donors include all members of the Board of Trustees and the Senior Leadership team, who were among the first to commit to the fund.  In addition, President John Hurley donated back 20 percent of his salary to the college, a portion of which was directed into the Emergency Relief Fund.

Thank you to those who have supported this fund and have shared a positive message in conjunction with this campaign.  It is an incredible reminder that the Canisius community is always here to support one another.

Please watch the video above that showcases some of the wonderful messages of support from members of the Canisius community – trustees, alumni, faculty, staff and friends.
