It’s Flashback Friday!

Each Friday, we will include historical facts about the college in The Dome, on Facebook and Twitter.  Flashback Fridays are another part of our yearlong sesquicentennial celebration, which culminates in 2020 when Canisius turns 150 years old.

Today, we flash back to March 1994 and the 37th annual Regents Ball, held that year at the Country Club of Buffalo. Pictured are former Canisius President Rev. James M. Demske ’47, SJ, and Richard A. Shick, PhD, dean of the Canisius College Wehle School of Business. The Regents Ball continues to serve as the principal fundraiser for the Canisius College Board of Regents Scholarship Fund. Proceeds from the annual event support promising young students who otherwise would not be able to take advantage of a Canisius education.

This year, the Canisius College Board of Regents will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the college’s 1870 founding when it hosts Canisius 150: A Blue & Gold Gala. To mark this milestone in the college’s history, proceeds from this year’s event will benefit Canisius 150, the college’s sesquicentennial fundraising campaign aimed at supporting the greatest needs of the college and its students.
