Are You in Need of a Retreat Over Spring Break?

The Office of Mission & Identity is launching a series of “Magis” retreats that will focus on discernment. Faculty, staff, and administrators are invited to attend a two-night, three-day Magis: Canisius Collaborators retreat over spring break.

Our new Magis program was inspired by Boston College’s Halftime program—an experience that focuses on discernment and three central questions: What brings me joy? What am I good at? What does the world need from me?

The retreat will take place from Tuesday, March 17 (arrival around lunch) through Thursday, March 19 (departure after dinner) at the Mercy Spirituality Center. This retreat will provide participants with ample time for reflection and quiet at the Mercy Spirituality Center, located next to Highland Park in Rochester.

We will continue building community across divisions at Canisius by each briefly sharing part of our own story (professional, personal or spiritual). Each day will include shared meals, a nightly Examen, optional spiritual direction and lots of unstructured time for you to care for your whole person.

Limited spaces are available. If interested, please apply here. Spots will be given on a first come, first served basis. Applications are due by Thursday, February 20.

There is no cost to attend. Housing, meals, and programming will be provided.

Hospice Spring Bouquet Sale Reminder

The Student Records & Financial Services Center has teamed up with Hospice Buffalo to take orders for the organization’s 34th annual Hospice Spring Bouquet Sale.  This year, you can purchase a gorgeous mixed bouquet for $10 or a tribute bouquet for $30. (For every tribute bouquet purchased, a $10 bouquet will be sent to brighten the day of a current Hospice patient).

Also, to celebrate the 34th year of the bouquet sale, Hospice is giving away 34 prizes for 34 years. Each tribute bouquet will have a peel-n-reveal sticker for the opportunity to be one of the lucky winners! All proceeds from the Spring Bouquet Sale benefit Hospice Buffalo’s patients and their families.

Orders with payment are due no later than Friday, February 14. Cash and checks are accepted. Checks can be made out to Hospice Buffalo. Flowers will delivered the week of March 2 and you will be contacted when they arrive for pick up.

If you have any questions, please contact Allaina Faulise at faulisea@canisius.edu or Margaret Kraatz at kraatzm@canisius.edu.

Help us bring a dose of springtime and happiness to the people impacted by serious illness and loss.

Thanks a bunch! As our appreciation, fresh popcorn will be available in our lobby from Wednesday through Friday!!
