On Thursday, February 13, the Institute for Classical and Medieval Studies will hold its first Brown Bag seminar of the semester. From 11:45a.m. to 12:45 p.m., Johanna Fisher, PhD, of the English Department and Women’s & Gender Studies Program, will talk about women mystics during the Middle Ages in Female Voices in the Silence: Hildegard von Bingen and Mechthild von Magdeburg. Guests should plan to meet in the ICMS Reading Room: OM 418. Bring your lunch and join the conversation. Everyone is welcome.

Additionally, on Friday, February 14, the Classics and the Fine Arts departments will team up to bring a special Tea@2/Art in the Afternoon. Join the group in the Student Center’s Regis Room for a viewing of Gift, a documentary of artistic expressions from around the world centered on giving. Because of this event, this week’s Classics Tea@2 will not be held in OM 418. Come at 2:00 p.m. to the Regis Room instead; the film begins at 2:30. This event is free and open to the public.
