The Canisius hockey team will host its annual outdoor open practice at Buffalo RiverWorks on Tuesday, January 21.

The team is slated to practice from 5:00-6:15 p.m. on one of the facility’s two outdoor rinks.  During that time, members of the Griffs coaching staff and team will take time to interact with the crowd. There will also be opportunities to win Canisius tickets, merchandise and other prizes. Admission is free.

At the conclusion of practice, fans can join the Griffs on the ice, until 7:00 p.m., for an open skate and autographs.  Fans can bring their own skates or can rent a pair from RiverWorks, free of charge.  Complimentary hot chocolate, coffee and food will be available for all those in attendance.

The city’s premier waterfront, boating, sports, music and entertainment destination, Buffalo RiverWorks is a 5,000-person art, entertainment and concert venue. The 60,000 square feet of space also features two outdoor ice rinks covered by a metal pavilion with open sides to provide shelter while maintaining an outdoor feel. The ice rinks play host to a variety of hockey, curling and figure skating practices and events.
