In the spirit of the New Year (and resolutions that are notorious for being broken), let’s talk about changes in our routine that can stick: creating healthy habits.

Starting today through January 31 – and hopefully beyond – you can challenge yourself to create a habit and maintain it for the month, with the goal of carrying on throughout the year. Check-in every time you practice the new habit. Maximum check-in is once a day.

Whatever your goal may be, whether it’s making more time for yourself, exercising more, or reducing stress, change is more effective and lasting with the right plan and attitude.

One effective strategy that you can use is SMART* goals, or goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-framed. SMART goals can help you to better track your progress, set realistic expectations, and will help get you further along than you could have ever imagined.
