Canisius celebrates the Great American Smokeout on Thursday, November 21 in Science Hall Commons.  Join us at 11:00 a.m. when President John Hurley is recognized by Cicatelli Associates Inc. (CAI) for the college’s policy to become a smoke, tobacco and nicotine-free campus.  CAI is a diverse, multi-site, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of healthcare, prevention and social services delivered to most marginalized populations.

Stop by informational tables and join activities to recognize the Great American Smokeout from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Tables will be staffed by representatives of the New York State Smokers’ Quitline, Independent Health, the Student Public Health Committee and CAI Buffalo REACH.

Every year, on the third Thursday of November, smokers across the nation take part in the American Cancer Society Great American Smokeout.  The Canisius event is sponsored by the Office of Human Resources, USA Public Health Committee, Erie-Niagara Tobacco-Free Coalition, Independent Health, Lawley and Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
