It’s Flashback Friday!

It’s Flashback Friday! Each Friday we will include historical facts about the college in The Dome, on Facebook and Twitter. Flashback Fridays are another part of our yearlong Sesquicentennial celebration, which culminates in 2020 when Canisius turns 150 years old.

Flashback to 1980 – Canisius President Rev. James M. Demske ’47, SJ, sits alongside then U.S. Vice President Walter Mondale during a Canisius vs. St. Lawrence football game at War Memorial Stadium on November 15, 1980.

Father McShane’s visit was part of the Sesquicentennial Year Series, which will bring three Jesuit university presidents to campus this academic year to discuss “The Future of American Catholic Higher Education.” The series is sponsored by the college’s William H.
