The Griff Center for Student Success was a busy place on Tuesday morning, November 12, as students crowded the office to take advantage of registration assistance being offered by the team.

Fordham University President Rev. Joseph M. McShane. SJ, discusses the future of American Catholic higher education during his visit to Canisius on Tuesday, November 12.
“The Future of American Catholic Higher Education” made for an engaging conversation earlier this week, when Fordham University President Rev. Joseph McShane, SJ, visited Canisius.

Father McShane’s visit was part of the Sesquicentennial Year Series, which will bring three Jesuit university presidents to campus this academic year to discuss “The Future of American Catholic Higher Education.” The series is sponsored by the college’s William H. Fitzpatrick Institute of Public Affairs and Leadership.
Congratulations to Lisa Fischer, assistant registrar of student records and financial services. She is the college’s sixth United Way basket raffle winner.
The United Way Committee will draw a name each Monday during the campaign, which runs until Friday, November 22. When you donate to the 2019 campaign, your name will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of the baskets listed below. You will be eligible to win the first Monday after you pledge and throughout the remaining weeks of the campaign, so get your pledge in early.

The Canisius College Physics/Pre-Engineering Seminar series will welcome John Olenick and Kathy Olenick, both of ENrG Inc., to campus today, Friday, November 15 at 2:10 p.m. in Science Hall, Room 1028. The president and business development manager, respectively, will discuss the company’s product zirconia ceramic ribbon, which is attracting significant attention from the energy industry due to its extraordinary thermal and mechanical properties. The pair will also share their knowledge of engineering and entrepreneurship.
