The Division of Student Affairs, Chartwells and the Undergraduate Student Association (USA) have joined forces to reenvision the food pantry on campus. As a result, Petey’s Pantry, located in Palisano Pavilion 002, is now open. Created to combat food insecurity and provide a place where students facing hunger can receive help, Petey’s Pantry is open this fall on Fridays from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m., Sundays from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Tuesdays from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Canisius is a member of the College & University Food Bank Alliance (CUFBA), a network of campus food pantries that connect, support and share resources in the vital work of serving students with food insecurity.

Donations to Petey’s Pantry can be made in the form of a check made payable to “Canisius College” during the Thanksgiving Sit-Down Dinner on November 20 from 4:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. in the Economou Dining Hall. In addition, donations are graciously accepted in Campus Ministry, Old Main Room 207. Personal hygiene products are also being collected, but food donations are not at this time.

Please contact Mike Hayes, director of Campus Ministry, at Ext. 2420, if you have further questions.

Coming soon – Swipe out Hunger, an initiative that allows students to donate two meal “swipes” to a bank that will be allocated to fellow students in need.
