The Western Zone of the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (APHERD) and the Physical and Health Education Teacher Education (P/HETE) program at Canisius College hosted Darryl Daily, associate of instructional services for physical education in the New York State Education Department (NYSED), on Monday, October 21 and Tuesday, October 22.

Daily, along with Clancy Seymour ’97, MS, ’99, EdD, assistant professor of kinesiology, co-presented to more than 60 physical and health educators on a new version of the New York State physical education learning standards available for public comment this fall. Daily and Seymour have served on the taskforce to revise these standards. Daily also visited P/HETE candidates in class to discuss the profession. The event was well received and continues to highlight the merits of the P/HETE program at the college.
