Michael Galang, DO, senior vice president and chief information officer for Catholic Health Services (CHS) will present “It’s Epic: A Catholic Health-Canisius Partnership for Student Interns” on Tuesday, October 22 at 3:00 p.m. in the Science Hall Commons.

Galang will speak to the campus community about Catholic Health’s mission to implement the Epic (a modernized electronic health record) patient record system and the transformative impact the unified health record system will have on healthcare in the community. He will also discuss the unique opportunities that are made available to students as part of the Catholic Health Epic journey.

CHS is currently engaged in a data-driven transformative process, one with a major component on Canisius’ campus. The novel presence of CHS on campus presents a range of possible collaborative efforts for Canisius College and Catholic Health.

The event is sponsored by the graduate program in Data Analytics, the Schreiner Pre-Medical Center, the Computer Science Department, the Biology Department, the Mathematics and Statistics Department, the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department, and the Physics Department.
