GriffAudit 2.0

Beginning Friday, October 11, Canisius College graduate students will have access to a new degree audit system, GriffAudit 2.0 utilizing Ellucian DegreeWorks, which will be available in the MyCanisius portal under the faculty services heading. (Please note that undergraduates will continue to use the old GriffAudit system at this time). This comprehensive academic advising and degree audit solution provides students and advisors with tools and information to successfully navigate degree requirements. It provides students with a comprehensive guide to degree completion and seamlessly integrates with information from CourseLeaf and Banner. These new efficiencies will provide better support for our students’ academic goals and better access to academic advice for advisors.

What are the benefits of GriffAudit 2.0?

  • Real-time advice and counsel
  • Interactive “what if?” scenario planning
  • More transparent course and credit transfer data
  • Clarity on degree requirements and course availability
  • Clear path to graduation

Graduate advisors should begin to familiarize themselves with the new degree audit system prior to the start of advisement and registration. Please refer to the “learn about student profile” icon on the MyCanisius portal to review the training documentation. Video tutorials and FAQs are available to help navigate the system and better understand all of its features.

Please note that all graduate degree audits were created from the 2018 – 19 academic catalog. Phase two of the GriffAudit 2.0 rollout will occur later this academic year for all undergraduate students. We hope to have it ready in time for advising appointments in the spring.

Students will be instructed to contact their advisors directly with questions or concerns regarding their degree audit. If you believe there is an error or missing information on a student’s audit, please contact the Student Records and Financial Services Center utilizing the new “GriffAudit” mailbox at griffaudit@canisius.edu. Please include the student’s ID number and details regarding the error or omission. If you have any additional questions or concerns regarding the new GriffAudit 2.0 system, please submit using the GriffAudit mailbox and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to the implementation team, especially Samantha Brennan, student services processing specialist for student records and financial services; Pam Dart, programmer analyst for ITS; Lisa Fischer, assistant registrar for student records and financial services; Michele Folsom, director of administrative computing for ITS; Emily McGorry, executive assistant for academic affairs; Deborah Prohn, assistant director for student records and financial services; and David Shakarjian, senior programmer analyst for ITS, who worked diligently to ensure the audits match the catalog and reflect our current curricular practices. Additionally, many thanks go to the numerous faculty and staff members who provided assistance entering exceptions, answering questions and testing the degree audits this summer. Your participation was greatly appreciated and imperative to the successful rollout of this first phase. This was truly a team effort, and I hope that students and their advisors find our work will make their lives easier.
