The Institute for Classical and Medieval Studies (ICMS) will begin its fall 2019 Brown Bag Seminar Series with a Buffalo connection on Wednesday, September 11. Jonathan Lawrence, PhD, associate professor of religious studies and theology, will present Ancient Images, Modern Buildings: Examples of Sacred Art in Buffalo. Starting with Canisius’ Christ the King Chapel, Lawrence will help explain the traditions, symbolism and imagery seen on campus and around the city.

The talk will take place in the new ICMS reading room located in Old Main 418 from 11:50 a.m. – 12:50 p.m. Brown Bag Seminars are free and open to everyone. Bring a lunch and join the conversation!
