Look who made an appearance in Wheatfield, NY this week! Why it’s none other than Petey the Griffin.

The college mascot made a surprise visit at the home of Clancy Seymour on Tuesday, September 3, to rally his four children for the start of a new school year.

Seymour is an assistant professor of kinesiology and director of the physical and health education teacher education program (P/HETE). His children, (triplets) Chyler, Chailyn and Chase are eight years old and started third grade this year. Channing is nine years old and started fourth grade. All attend Errick Road Elementary School in the Niagara Wheatfield School District.

Canisius in the News

WKBW-TV Channel 7 spoke with Canisius President John J. Hurley on Thursday evening, September 5, following news that the Movement to Restore Trust requested the resignation of Bishop Richard Malone.

Business First reported on the $135 million health information technology conversion underway in Science Hall, where Catholic Health is leasing 25,000 square feet of space. The partnership between Catholic Health and the college is providing internship opportunities for Canisius students.

Trivia Wednesdays in The Dome

The campus community is invited to watch The Dome for special “Trivia Wednesdays” which will be published throughout the entire school year every Wednesday edition. The first person to respond to pubrel@canisius.edu with the correct answer will have the opportunity to win Canisius “swag” gear.

Additionally, once a month on Wednesdays, there will be a special door prize giveaway where the winner will have the opportunity to receive Canisius Sesqui gear.

Winners will be announced the following Wednesday each week along with the correct answer.

Soccer Teams Host Doubleheader

The Canisius women’s and men’s soccer teams host a doubleheader this Sunday, September 8 at the Demske Sports Complex. The men face off against Northern Kentucky University at 1:00 p.m. Click here to add this event to your calendar.
