Summer 2019 Online Faculty Development Course

The Center for Online Learning & Innovation (COLI) will host an Online Faculty Development Course in early summer to help prepare faculty to teach online and hybrid classes. The course will run from Monday, May 27 – Saturday, June 29. The class is entirely online and simulates a real fully-online course so professors can learn to teach online while getting the online student experience.

Learn how to build engaging, rigorous online and hybrid courses that are powered by your teaching skills and enthusiasm. Discover how to sensibly incorporate interactive learning, social engagement and teaching presence in an online class space. After this mini-course, faculty will craft effective and engaging web-based courses that incorporate their personality and talents as a professor, and Canisius College’s special blend of Jesuit identity and pedagogy.

This course is available to all Canisius College faculty. Whether you plan to teach an online course in the future, aren’t yet sure you’ll teach online or would just like to know more about online courses and coursework, this is an excellent opportunity.

Download Any Zoom Videos Recorded Before 2019

Those who use Zoom for web conferencing, meetings and courses frequently make recordings of these online sessions. Canisius’ Zoom license includes plenty of room to house these recordings online but there is a limit to the total storage for all users. Periodically, the Zoom administrators at Canisius must delete old videos within the Zoom account. In most cases, videos still stored in Zoom accounts are no longer in use or haven’t been viewed anytime recently.

After Saturday, June 1, videos stored within Zoom that were recorded before January 1st, 2019 will be deleted.

If you have any videos stored in your Zoom account that you recorded before 2019 but continue to use in coursework or administrative work, please download and transfer them to your Canisius Google Drive by Saturday, June 1.
