Sunday Softball at the Demske

The Canisius softball team continues home play with a doubleheader on Sunday, April 7 at 12:00 p.m. against Niagara University. The game is part of the Battle of the Bridge contest. The Griffs enter the MAAC doubleheader with a 2-2 league record, while Niagara is 1-3.

Canisius Welcomes Alumnus Damon Young ’02 Back to Campus

Damon Young ’02, co-founder and editor-in-chief of VerySmartBrothas, will celebrate the release of his debut book, What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Blacker: A Memoir in Essays, on Tuesday, April 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the Montante Cultural Center. The event, which is free and open to the public, includes a book discussion and signing.

The first 50 students to attend will receive a free copy of the book. (Must present Canisius ID).

Ignatian Scholarship Day 2019

The 12th annual Ignatian Scholarship Day will take place on Wednesday, April 10 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. This event highlights the achievements of more than 125 undergraduate and graduate students in various forms of expression.

Celebration of Service 2019

As a reminder, the annual Celebration of Service will take place next Friday, April 12 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. New this year, the event will be held in Grupp Fireside Lounge and will feature a light wine and cheese reception. Canisius wine glasses will also be provided to all attendees as an event favor!

Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana

Join ArtsCanisius on Thursday, April 11 at 11:30 a.m. in the Montante Cultural Center for a performance by Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana. Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana is one of America’s most prominent flamenco companies, serving more than 45,000 people nationwide each year through far-reaching programs that entertain, educate and empower. Their mission is to promote flamenco as a living art form and a vital part of Hispanic heritage, produce and perform high quality dance works, provide arts education programs that catalyze connections among young people and nurture the next generations of Spanish dance artists and educators.

This event is hosted by ArtsCanisius, the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures, and New York State DanceForce. It is free and open to the public.
